Apple Oatmeal

Apple Oatmeal

  • 1 ½ cup skim milk
  • 1 cup of quick cooking oats
  • ½ cup apple sauce
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Combine milk, oats and apple sauce in a saucepan and cook over low heat until it starts to simmer.  Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes or until oatmeal is thick.  Remove from heat and add spice, sugar, butter, salt and vanilla.  Stir until combined and serve warm.  Serves 2.
