High Line 2014
The High Line is a park in New York City that I have written about in the past. Check out my prior High Line post for the history on its establishment. I just visited the park yesterday for the third time and thought it was worth posting again, as the park has now completed its construction. The park is conveniently located off the Westside Highway on 34th Street. To access the park you must be between 11th and 12th Avenue on 34th Street. The High Line extends down to Gansevoort Street and there are numerous look outs, exit to the street and seating areas throughout the park. I was particular eyeing the wooden lounge chairs located around 15th Street. If I was armed with a snack, a book and a little time that could have made for a great afternoon.
As of last weekend (11/2), the food carts are closed for the season so there is no food for sale on the High Line. However, the Chelsea Market is located on W 15th Street and is loaded with a smorgasboard of gourmet food. If you exit the High Line at W 14th Street, you can easily walk one block up to W 15th Street and visit the Market for lunch or an afternoon snack.
While the weather is still teetering on fall, cool temperatures this is a great time to visit the HighLine.
Please visit back later in the week, when I detail the food we enjoyed at Chelsea Market.
