Labor Day Weekend 2014
I can’t believe I am saying this but it is Labor Day weekend. Please see my prior post for the origin of this holiday. It has been unseasonable cool this summer and I am not complaining, but I would have liked to spend more time in the pool. Although with the weather being this cool it is a great opportunity to get out and do some hiking. There are so many great trails and parks in the area that you only have to pick your destination and interest before you head out.
The Palisades Interstate Park is huge and has trails in both NY and NJ. Please see click here for more information.
Bear Mountain State Park has a large number of trails. These trails not only take you to amazing views of the area but some have local ruins to be explored. Adventures like that are priceless. The hike through Doodletown will not disappoint you, with a staircase to nowhere, cemetaries and old mines.
Please click here, for a detailed map of the Bear Mountain State Park Trails.
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, please try to take some time to enjoy the family! Happy Labor Day!
